Danny Abla

Danny has already 2 successful exits under his belt. He founded ‘PinPay’ in 2008 back when mobile payment was still in its infancy and sold it to a leading bank in 2013. He went on to found another start-up in New York ‘Shoop’ which he sold in 2015. In 2014, Danny launched Uber’s services in KSA as a third-party service provider. Since then, he got very involved in the MENA start-up ecosystem and has been helping start-ups design their products and grow their customer base. In fact, his involvement in start-ups dates back to 2001 when he went through an internship at Shopzilla, an eCommerce portal based-out in Los Angeles that was sold for half a billion dollars. During his experience there he learned two extremely valuable lessons:
1) if you want to make money in start-ups: solve a problem… a really big problem;
2) if you want to get ahead as an intern in a start-up: learn to make coffee… really good coffee.

Danny has been selected as one of the TOP 50 FINTECH INFLUENCERS in the Middle East. He has an MBA in technology from the University of California, Irvine and is very passionate about extreme sports and has broken many bones while racing, skiing, and skydiving.
