Sonia is a transformational digital business leader who specializes in building digital businesses that work. She combines more than 25 years of consumer- and corporate-banking experience with strategic implementation in digital banks both before and since joining McKinsey.
Sonia is passionate about the smart application of technological developments to enable businesses—especially those in financial services. She believes that true business differentiation can only be achieved through superior customer experience and is driven by simplicity, speed, and convenience.
Prior to joining McKinsey in 2020, Sonia served as head of the technology transformation for Consumer and Community Banking at J.P.Morgan Chase in New York City, COO of digital banking at DBS Bank in Singapore, and head of consumer banking in Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia. Before that, she spent 18 years at Citigroup in Poland, the last six years of which she spent as the bank’s deputy CEO.
Sonia is an enthusiastic speaker who has delivered keynote presentations at over 50 different conferences around the world. She holds a masters in foreign trade from SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and a bachelor’s in European business studies from Brunel University London. She is a passionate traveler who holds a black belt in American kickboxing.
