Educationally, Sougata holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), MESRA, Ranchi. He furthered his studies through the MS-MBA dual degree program at Boston University School of Management, where he specialized in Finance and Information Systems. Sougata’s academic achievements include obtaining three prestigious scholarships to support his studies.
Through his professional journey, Sougata has demonstrated his expertise in investment management, financial analysis, and equity research. Prior to founding CashRich, he held roles at UBS in Boston, Ardour Capital Investments, and Boston Financial & Equity Corporation, gaining valuable experience in financial modeling and venture capital financing.
At Tata Group’s corporate headquarters in Mumbai, Sougata contributed significantly as Manager, Investor Relations, and later as Senior Manager, Treasury at Tata Steel. His responsibilities included managing cash, mutual fund investments, retirement funds, foreign exchange trading, and working capital.
An accomplished public speaker, Sougata has shared his knowledge on money management, fintech, and financial modeling at various corporate events, business schools, and engineering colleges.
