Azizjon Azimi is the founder and CEO of zypl.ai, an AI software startup. zypl.ai applies
synthetically generated AI models at scale to advance financial inclusion in emerging and
frontier markets. Its credit scoring software based on machine learning has been
implemented in 6 markets across the Middle East and Central Asia having underwritten over
$25 million in loans with >1% default rate. Prior to launching zypl.ai, Azizjon was a founder
of tajrupt, an educational nonprofit transforming youth potential into human capital in his
home country of Tajikistan.
Azizjon recently graduated with an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business as a
Knight- Hennessy Scholar, and an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School as an Aga Khan
International Scholar. Azizjon has been appointed as the chair of Tajikistan’s AI Council in
charge of leading the country’s national AI strategy. He had previously graduated cum laude
with a BA and double honors in economics and international relations from New York
University. He has been featured in Forbes “30 Under 30” and was one of the winners of
2018 Islamic Development Bank Transform Fund competition.
